1 killed in head-on crash in Boston

BOSTON, NY – The New York State Police Newsroom reports that one person was killed in a head-on crash in Boston on Wednesday, April 20.

Authorities say the crash took place just after 2:30 p.m. on Boston State Road. 39-year-old Justin Mendyke was driving a 1999 Dodge when his vehicle crossed the center line of the road and collided with a driver in a 2021 Ford.

Mendyke was killed in the impact and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries and was transported to Erie County Medical Center for treatment.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
