19-year-old passenger killed in Ithaca crash

ITHACA, NY – A teenager was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Cayuga Heights on Sunday evening.

According to the Ithaca Times Daily, the crash occurred at about 5:10 p.m. in the 900 block of East Shore Drive, just west of Meadow Street.

A passenger in the vehicle, 19-year-old Vladislav Varetsa, was ejected and  pronounced dead at the crash site. Another passenger was extricated and transported to a local hospital. The driver was able to exit the vehicle without assistance.

Investigators are working to establish an official cause of the deadly crash at this time.
