NORTH SYRACUSE, NY – CNYCentral reports a crash involving an intoxicated driver in North Syracuse that left one person hospitalized on Wednesday morning.
Authorities say the incident took place around 1:00 a.m. on Buckley Road, between Waxwood Circle and Rita Drive. An intoxicated driver of an Audi sedan and another driver of a Ford Explorer failed to control their vehicles while driving at high speeds. The two cars crashed into one another, hit a nearby culvert, and rolled over.
The driver of the Audi, 20-year-old Kalid Baraw, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The driver of the Ford sustained a serious head injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The collision continues to be investigated.
