LEICESTER, NY – According to 2WGRZ, one man was killed in a crash involving three vehicles in Leicester on Wednesday evening.
Authorities say the crash took place just after 6:00 p.m., near the intersection of Mount Morris Road and Perry Road. 65-year-old Abu Syed Rezaul Karim was travelling north on Mount Morris Road in a passenger car and attempted to make a left turn onto Perry Road. As he turned, his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into a tractor-trailer head-on. The force of the impact caused Karim’s vehicle to then hit a third car nearby.
Two passengers in Karim’s car were ejected from the vehicle in the impact, one of whom was later pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim ejected from the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Karim and another two passengers in his vehicle sustained minor injuries and were also taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The occupants of the other vehicles involved in the crash did not sustain injuries.
Police continue to investigate this incident.
