Narrative
ROME, NY – According to WSYR News, a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a hit-and-run driver while in a crosswalk in Rome on Wednesday.
Authorities say the collision took place shortly after 12:00 p.m. on the 1600 block of Black River Boulevard. A driver of a silver SUV was heading southbound on Black River Boulevard when they struck an adult male pedestrian on a crosswalk. The driver fled the scene of the accident immediately.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have not located the driver or vehicle involved in the crash at this time.
