BROOKLYN, NY – According to ABC7 News, a bicyclist was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in the East Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn on Thursday.
56-year-old cyclist Eugene Schroeder was found dead at the scene near the intersection of Johnson Avenue and Morgan Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Authorities say Schroeder was stopped next to a vehicle on Morgan Avenue when the vehicle attempted to turn right onto Johnson Avenue and crashed into the cyclist mid-turn.
No other details have been released at this time. An investigation is currently ongoing.
