Narrative

QUEENS VILLAGE, NEW YORK, NY – A multi-vehicle collision on the Belt Parkway claimed the lives of two people early Saturday.

First responders  say a westbound Dodge Challenger sideswiped a Mazda CX-5 near the Springfield Boulevard overpass. The impact sent the Dodge into a roadside tree at a high rate of speed.

A 29-year-old woman who was riding in the Dodge died at the crash site. A 35-year-old man as rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he died a short time later.

The Mazda’s driver, a 32-year-old woman, was unhurt.

The exact cause of the crash is under investigation by the authorities.
