LIVINGSTON, NY – Two people died after a Tesla driving at a high rate of speed crashed into a house in Livingston on Thursday.
Troopers say a 2022 Tesla Model X veered off the southbound lanes of US-9 and struck a tree before slamming into a nearby home and catching fire.
First responders say one occupant of the home was able to escape and was later taken to Albany Medical Center. The second, 81-year-old Peter Lasher, was found dead inside the residence.
The Tesla’s driver, whose identity is unclear at this time, also suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
