MANHATTAN, NEW YORK, NY – 10 people were injured in multiple collisions involving a stolen vehicle in the Murray Hill area during Tuesday’s evening rush hour.
The incident unfolded when a suspected stolen vehicle fled a traffic stop near Lexington Avenue and East 42nd Street.
Police said the driver initially struck a cyclist before striking a taxi. Then the vehicle jumped the sidewalk and struck several pedestrians before making a U-turn and traveling the wrong way down Lexington Ave..
The vehicle wrecked into another car head-on while traveling down Lexington Ave. The driver was apprehended by civilians and held until first responders arrived.
