Narrative
BROOKLYN, NY – A woman died and three others sustained injuries in an overnight collision in Downtown Brooklyn.
The incident occurred near Court Street and Atlantic Avenue shortly before 3:30 a.m.
A black Mercedes Benz sedan caught fire following the crash, while a white Honda came to a halt in front of a local Trader Joe’s, with three occupants pinned inside.
An 18-year-old woman in the Honda was taken to New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later. Two other occupants, aged 29 and 32, were hospitalized and are in stable condition.
The 25-year-old driver of the black sedan attempted to flee on foot but was subsequently apprehended by police about a block away. His passenger, 24, was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
