Narrative
NEW YORK, NY – Medics transported five pedestrians to the hospital Sunday night after a hit-and-run vehicle struck seven people in a crosswalk in Midtown Manhattan.
The incident happened around 11:55 p.m. at the intersection of West 36th Street and 6th Avenue, which is just southeast of Gotham Hall.
Police say the driver of a Honda Accord drove into a crosswalk and hit seven pedestrians before fleeing the scene and becoming involved in a second collision in Queens.
One of the pedestrians sustained critical injuries, and four others were hospitalized for injuries sustained in the crash.
Authorities arrested the alleged driver, whom they identified as a 29-year-old female, at the scene of a later accident in Queens.
The investigation continues.
