Narrative

COLLEGE POINT, NY – Two people died, and two others were hospitalized Thursday after a wrong-way collision on the Expressway in Queens.

The incident happened just after 2:15 a.m. on the Whitestone Expressway near College Point Boulevard, which is just north of Flushing Creek and south of the New York State DMV at College Point.

Police say that a northbound Honda Pilot veered into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Honda HR-V.

A passenger from the Pilot died along with the driver of the HR-V. Authorities identified the victims as 25-year-old Joseph Pulido and 45-yaer-old Francisco Cureno.

Two other passengers from the Pilot were hospitalized — one with critical injuries.
