Narrative
ALEXANDRIA, NY – Two boys, a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, died last Wednesday after a pickup truck rear-ended their family’s Amish buggy along a roadway in Alexandria.
The incident happened around 2:20 p.m. on County Road 2, or Barnes Settlement Road, which runs from La Fargeville through Redwood.
The investigation indicates that a 26-year-old driver crashed into the rear of an Amish buggy, which was carrying two adults and their four young children.
The 1-year-old died at the scene, and the 3-year-old died after transport to a local hospital.
Additionally, medics transported two other children and the two parents to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing. It is unclear if the driver of the pickup truck will face charges.
