Narrative
CANASTOTA, NY – A 20-year-old female driver died, and three passengers sustained serious injuries in a solo crash along the highway in Canastota.
The incident happened early in the morning on Friday near the intersection of NY-31 and NY-13, which is near the southeast edge of Oneida Lake.
Police say the driver lost control of her speeding vehicle at a curve in the road and overturned after crashing into an embankment and pole.
The driver died at the scene. Authorities identified her as Ariana R. Savage-Ogletree from Cicero.
Medics airlifted a teen and transported two others via ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.
