Narrative
SYRACUSE, NY – A man died early Thursday morning in Syracuse after fleeing police and crashing a stolen vehicle in the Westside area.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. in the area of South Wilbur Avenue and Seymour Street, which is just east of Rosamond Gifford Zoo.
Police say they initially tried to stop the driver just west of Route 11 when he fled westward and ultimately crashed into a concrete wall.
The driver died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased.
