Narrative
HEMPSTEAD, NY – Two people died last Friday night when their vehicle crashed with a total of four other vehicles in downtown Hempstead.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. near Home Depot and Harbor Freight.
Police say that a Chrysler hit a vehicle at Fulton Avenue and Hilton Avenue before fleeing the scene and colliding with three additional vehicles at Fulton Avenue and Main Street.
The force of both collisions caused the Chrysler to ignite. Both the driver and a passenger died from injuries sustained in the fiery crash.
No other injuries have been reported.
