BRONX, NY – A 38-year-old Hempstead man died early Friday morning after a 2-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler near the George Washington Bridge.
The incident happened just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of the Cross Bronx Expressway, or I-95, and Washington Bridge. This is near the Harlem River.
Police say the driver of an SUV crashed into the rear of a semi near the intersection.
Medics transported the driver of the SUV to a local hospital, where he died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities identified the victim as Richard Edwards.
The truck driver did not sustained injuries in the crash.
