BRONX, NY – A hit-and-run vehicle struck and killed a bicyclist on Friday morning in the Melrose area of The Bronx.
The incident happened around 6 a.m. near the intersection of Melrose Avenue and East 161st Street, which is just southeast of Railroad Park.
The investigation indicates that the bicyclist was likely working his delivery job when a Jeep struck him and dragged him for at least a block on Melrose Avenue.
The 24-year-old cyclist died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities have not yet identified them.
The driver of the Jeep fled the scene of the crash.
