MASSAPEQUA, NY – A 57-year-old man died Friday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in southeast Nassau County.
The incident happened around 2 p.m. on the eastbound side of the Southern State Parkway east of exit 29. This is in the city of Massapequa.
Police haven’t shared any details about what might have caused the accident. They say it involved a Black Chevrolet Colorado and a white Toyota Camry.
The Chevy overturned as a result of the collision, and the driver, identified as Thomas Bayer, sustained fatal injuries.
Medics transported the driver of the Toyota to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
