Narrative
BROOKLYN, NY – A crash involving a sedan and a school bus killed one person and injured another Thursday in Brooklyn.
The accident happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Van Sinderen Avenue and Blake Avenue, which is just south of Broadway Junction and the Evergreens Cemetery.
Police say that a southbound Mercedes-Benz crashed into an eastbound school bus. The bus was not carrying children when the wreck occurred.
The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene. A passenger in the Mercedes died after transport to an area hospital. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity to the public.
Medics transported the school bus driver to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
