Head-on collision on Route 46 in Verona kills 1

VERONA, NY – WKTV News reports that a head-on collision on Route 46 in Verona left one man dead on Wednesday night.

New York State Police say the crash took place around 11:00 p.m. near the intersection of Route 46 and Lock Road. 35-year-old James Short was driving a U-Haul truck when he crashed head-on into a pickup truck at the intersection.

Short was killed in the impact. The driver of the pickup truck, 30-year-old Christopher J. Moore, did not sustain any injuries.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
