NEW YORK, NY – Two people were killed and four others were hospitalized following a collision involving a stolen vehicle in Washington Heights on Monday.
Police say The incident took place at the intersection of West 179th Street and Audubon Avenue.
Video footage from the scene captured passersby attempting to assist the occupants of a Hyundai Elantra that had collided with parked cars and a Jeep, ultimately flipping onto its side.
Inside the Hyundai, two individuals were pronounced dead, while three others were transported to hospitals, one in critical condition to Columbia and two in critical condition to Harlem Hospital Center.
Law enforcement sources have revealed that the Hyundai Elantra had been reported stolen a month prior to the deadly crash.
