Narrative
GOUVERNEUR, NY – Two people died, and one person sustained injuries after a three-vehicle crash along a highway in southwestern St. Lawrence County.
Authorities reported to U.S. Route 11 in Gouverneur early in the morning on Friday, December 22nd.
Police say that an eastbound 18-wheeler entered the westbound lane and sideswiped a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado before colliding head-on with a 2017 Toyota Rav4.
Neither the driver of the semi-truck nor the driver of the Chevy sustained injuries in the accident.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 47-year-old Joshua Amo, died at the scene of the accident.
One passenger from the Toyota, identified as 67-year-old Gonzalo Ramirez-Zuniga, died after transport to a local hospital.
A second passenger from the Toyota, 56-year-old Rosa Maria-Solis, went to the hospital with minor injuries.
